The Experience
Every dog is different, and every session should feel a little different too. Some dogs want to run, some want to explore, some need time to warm up, and some are happiest glued to their person. I work with the dog in front of me rather than expecting them to fit into a perfectly curated session.
There’s no pressure for perfect behaviour, perfect poses, or a dog who can sit and stay for ten minutes. We’ll take breaks, move around, use treats and toys, change plans when we need to, and let your dog set the pace.
Before Your Session
Once you book, I’ll send you a questionnaire so I can learn more about your dog, your people, and what you’re hoping to get from the session. We’ll talk about things like personality, favourite motivators, reactivity, mobility, comfort around other dogs or people, and any specific photos you’d really love to have.
I’ll also help choose a location that works for your dog(s), not just one that looks pretty. Quiet trails, open fields, water, wooded areas, familiar places — we’ll figure out what makes the most sense.
During Your Session
Expect movement, treats, weird noises from me, plenty of breaks, and probably a little chaos. You do not need to worry about your dog being perfectly trained. Leashes can stay on. Dogs can be reactive. They can be nervous. They can decide halfway through that sitting is no longer on the agenda.
I’ll guide you through what to do, but the goal isn’t to spend the entire session posing. Some of my favourite photographs happen in between — walking together, playing, looking at each other, shaking off, sniffing around, or just existing together.
After Your Session
Once I’ve carefully edited your photographs, you’ll receive your private online gallery within 1–2 weeks. From there, you can view, download, and share directly from your gallery.
Your final gallery will include a mix of portraits, movement, candid moments, little details, and all the expressions that make your dog your dog.
FULL GALLERIES, ALWAYS
Every full session includes your complete gallery of professionally edited images, typically 30–40+ photos. I don’t believe in making you choose just a handful of favourites or pay extra to unlock the rest. You get the little moments, the big ones, and everything in between — if I edit it and love it, you get it.
FAQ
My dog can’t be off leash. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Your dog does not need to be off leash for their session. In fact, depending on the location, leashes may need to stay on regardless due to local rules or safety considerations. I can photograph around the leash and, when possible, remove standard leashes during editing so the final image still feels clean and natural.
What if my dog won’t sit still or look at the camera?
That’s completely fine—they don’t need to. Sessions are built around the dog in front of me. We can walk, play, explore, use treats and toys, and take breaks whenever needed. Some of the best photographs happen when nobody is sitting perfectly still.
Can I be in the photos too?
Please do! Full sessions can include your dog on their own, you together, family groupings, or any combination you’d like. If you prefer the session to be entirely focused on your dog, that works too.
What should we wear?
Wear something that feels like you and that you’re comfortable moving around in. Neutral and earthy colours tend to photograph beautifully outdoors, but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable.
My dog is nervous around new people. Will that be a problem?
Not at all. I don’t need to immediately approach, touch, or interact with your dog. We can give them time to settle in and let them decide how much interaction they’re comfortable with.

Do you provide RAW or unedited images?
No. Editing is part of the finished Woof Studios experience, so only completed, professionally edited photographs are delivered.
Can you Photoshop something out of the photo?
Basic distractions and things like leashes can often be removed where appropriate. More extensive retouching or image manipulation may not always be possible, and my goal is always to keep your photographs looking natural.
My dog is reactive. Can we still book a session?
Yes. Reactive dogs are welcome. Let me know about their triggers ahead of time and I’ll choose a location and session approach that gives them the space they need. We can avoid busy trails, other dogs, children, bikes, or anything else that makes them uncomfortable.
Does my dog need to know any commands?
Nope. A reliable sit or stay can be helpful, but it is absolutely not required. I’ll work with whatever your dog already knows.
Can I bring more than one dog?
Yes! My standard session pricing includes up to two dogs. Additional dogs are welcome for $50 per dog. Just let me know how many will be joining when you book so I can plan enough time and choose a location that works well for everyone.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Light rain, clouds and even a bit of wind can make for beautiful photographs. If conditions become unsafe or heavy rain makes the session impractical, we’ll reschedule. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast leading up to your session.
My dog is older or has mobility or health limitations. Can we still do a session?
Absolutely. Let me know what they’re comfortable with and we’ll build the session around them. We can keep walking to a minimum, stay close to vehicles, take lots of breaks, or photograph somewhere familiar.
When will I receive my photos?
Your professionally edited gallery will normally be delivered within 1–2 weeks of your session. If I expect your gallery to take longer than that, I’ll communicate the updated timeline with you directly.

What if I need to reschedule?
Life happens—to both people and dogs. If someone is sick, your dog is having a rough day, or circumstances change, reach out as soon as you can and I’ll do my best to find another date. Please note that rescheduling may not always be possible for mini sessions, as these are offered on limited dates and at specific locations.
